How so? Basically, public car washes uses car shampoos, water like waxes, trim dressers etc that contains a lot of chemicals/detergents that in due time will show defects/damages to your car. In short, public car washes caters to the public and uses a one size fits all approach to all cars.
All cars are different and they all go through different wear and tear from weather conditions and from usage. Thus, one size fits all public car washes are not exactly fit for most if not all cars.
Hence, it is a good idea to get your car detailed regularly by a professional who knows how to. On a yearly basis people usually visit public car washes once a month or sometimes twice a month. This could range from $15-$30, if you calculate that it works out to be roughly AUD $700.00/year. You could get your car detailed twice for that price and you will not have to worry about damaging your car.
It is a far better solution to maintain the value of your car when its time to sell and steer away from paint shops to repaint the car that will cost you lots more $$$. I do not think car owners dislike the idea of car detailing, but its mainly because they are not educated enough or knowledgeble enough to know the difference between car detailing and car washes.
If you would like to see the difference to your car give me a call.
